Outdoor market approved for Easthampton; Hatfield designated a "Green Community"

The town of Amherst discussed the usage of a recently purchased tract of land last night at a Town Meeting.

Plans for an outdoor market in Easthampton have been approved by the Planning Board. The market will run during the warmer months and will include a farmer's market, concession stands, craft booths and other businesses.

Energy & Environment
Attorney General Martha Coakley is voicing concern over the safety of nuclear waste disposal at the Vermont Yankee plant.  Amherst will need to comply with the Stretch Energy Code if the town plans on officially becoming a Green Community. Hatfield has now been designated a Green Community.
